  1. Those are two very different things. A transvestite enjoys dressing like a person of the opposite sex and sometimes acting like it. Their sexual orientation is irrelevant because transvestitism is not about sexuality, or at least it usually isn’t. On the other hand, a transgender person is a person who doesn’t feel their true gender matches with the sex they were born into, for example a woman who has all the female organs but feels like a man. A transgender person may go through a sex change procedure, called transition, in order to achieve the appropriate sexual features.
