  1. A transvestite is a person who dresses and acts like the person of the opposite sex (man dressing like a woman and vice versa) and a cisvestite (which has been coined only very recently) dresses according to social and cultural norms for their gender (a woman dressing like a woman, a man dressing like a man). Obviously, the word “cisvestite” has been created after the popularization of the word “cisgender” describing a person whose gender identification matches their natural (birth) sex. So, cisvestites are basically everyone EXCEPT transvestites.
